Mt Alvernia College

There are many symbols in this sterling silver necklace that have drawn inspiration from Mount Alvernia and Franciscan traditions.

The outer shape is a cinquefoil, from The Basilica of St Fancis in Assisi. The five segments also represent the circle of friends. At the top you’ll see the lily of St Clare and the bands on the three lower elements, are the knots in a friar’s rope belt. The pearl symbolises purity and the moon. The Tau cross is at the back of the chain and hidden in the design are the initials “MTA”, for you to find.

DR KERRIE TUITE – COLLEGE PRINCIPAL, MOUNT ALVERNIA COLLEGE

“Daniel, the beauty and the simplicity of your design captures the values that the College espouses. I was exceptionally pleased at the symbolism of the necklace – the all-important Franciscan Tau along with the delicate craftsmanship, has created a beautiful memory for our Graduating students. Many thanks.“
